Terms of Service

1. The service

ScionHome is a household management platform operated by Synthecore Ventures ("we," "us," "our"). The service helps you track bills, insurance renewals, home maintenance, documents, and vehicles by connecting to your financial accounts and applying AI-powered analysis.

ScionHome is provided on an "as available" basis. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time with reasonable notice.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account
• You must provide accurate information at signup and keep it current
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of others without their explicit consent
• You may not create more than one account per person

Notify us immediately at hello@scionhome.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

3. Financial data and read-only access

When you connect a financial account through Plaid, you authorize ScionHome to receive read-only transaction data from that account. You understand and agree that:

• ScionHome has read-only access and cannot initiate transfers, payments, or any financial transactions on your behalf without your explicit approval of each specific action
• You are responsible for reviewing and confirming any action ScionHome proposes before it is executed
• ScionHome is not a financial advisor, bank, or regulated financial institution
• Information provided by ScionHome is for informational purposes only and does not constitute financial, legal, or investment advice
• You should independently verify any savings opportunities or recommendations before acting on them
• You can revoke ScionHome's access to any connected account at any time

4. Savings and our fees

ScionHome's business model is based on sharing in savings we identify and you approve. Specifically:

• ScionHome is free to use for monitoring and identification of savings opportunities
• When you approve a savings action (such as switching insurance providers or negotiating a bill), ScionHome earns a percentage of the verified annual savings
• The specific percentage and calculation method will be displayed clearly before you approve any savings action
• You will never be charged for savings you did not approve or that did not materialize
• ScionHome does not receive compensation from insurance companies, utilities, or other service providers for recommending their products — recommendations are based solely on your potential savings

We reserve the right to introduce optional paid features or subscription tiers in the future. Existing functionality will not be moved behind a paywall without 60 days notice.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use ScionHome for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
• Provide false or misleading information about yourself or your household
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or household data
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the service
• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the service
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
• Use the service to transmit spam, malware, or harmful content

6. Intellectual property

ScionHome and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Synthecore Ventures and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Your data remains yours. By using ScionHome, you grant us a limited license to process your data solely for the purpose of providing the service. We do not claim ownership of your household data, documents, or financial records.

7. Disclaimers

ScionHome is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• Any savings estimates or recommendations will be accurate or achievable
• Information from third-party providers (banks, insurers, utilities) will be current or accurate
• The service will meet your specific requirements

Financial decisions you make based on ScionHome's information are made at your own discretion and risk.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Synthecore Ventures shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, lost savings, data loss, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use ScionHome.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from use of the service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $100.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Synthecore Ventures and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

10. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time from the Profile & Security settings page. Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days per our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or for any other reason with reasonable notice. We will not terminate accounts without cause without at least 14 days notice.

11. Disputes and governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

For any disputes, you agree to first contact us at hello@scionhome.com to attempt an informal resolution. If we cannot resolve the dispute informally within 30 days, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Connecticut, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property matters.

You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. For material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
